Research

Research interests:

My main research interest is on conservation ecology of birds, and in particular on spatial ecology and the effects of habitat fragmentation on sensitive species and communities. With this, I aim to contribute to practical conservation of such species and habitats, both in protected areas and in the context of sustainable agriculture and forestry systems. The latter is the case with my current project, within the graduate school ConFoBi, where I am investigating the relationship between retention forestry in the Black Forest and the expected benefits it brings to forest bird communities.
